Message I recently completed a injector update on my 1990 2+2.. I bought the car with multiple faulty injectors and a few other problems.

First would like to thank Bernie for selling me his injector adapter kit as well as some other parts that he hooked me up with (EGR delete kit).

I am planning on converting this car for a nice 2+2 Twinturbo "daily" driver. But for now.. I'd like to just enjoy driving a Z :)

I soldered in all the injector connectors and had to extend the lengths because the previous owner installed some injector harness pigtails (old style) and used butt connectors.. So I cut, extended and soldered the new style connectors. I also fixed some connectors like the Detonation sensor harness, VTC and 02 sensor.

Different colors of heat shrink because I ran out of that size in the same color and yea.. I know.. there is only 5 in the picture.. :)


One tip I have about lubing up the upper/lower injector O-rings and adapter O-rings.. I use a synthetic grease and rub around all surfaces of where the O-rings will sit.. on the fuel rail.. on the injector and the adapters. Then after coating with a light coat of grease.. I spray/smear a little wd-40 oil on those same surfaces. This makes them super slick.. and the injector will seat itself with just a light push while twisting back n forth.

It is the best way that I have found.

Yes I did replace all fuel hose with OEM Nissan.


You can see how the previous owner did a hack job replacing the old style injector pig tails. All butt connections ... some of which just fell apart when lightly pulled.

I also had a bad PTU and some serious corrosion on CAS, coolant temp and MAF. Glad I got it to where I feel comfortable with it.

Got her back on the road and really enjoy driving a Z again for a DD.

Today my Stillen type 3 TT front lip arrived.. I ordered it a few days ago.. since stillen has the free shipping sale. I got it for like $190 shipped.. Not bad considering what it usually is for the price and free shipping.

I am going to use my stock TT fascia and install this lip.. then get some kaminari side skirts and paint it all.. Since i'll be converting it soon.. its legit :)

Still can't decide between using my Kaminari wing.. my mission wing.. or stay wingless. I just think the 2+2 needs somthing in the back (I bought the wings for my TT a while back)
